DAS Purchases The Star Barn – The Most Recognizable Barn in The Country

October 10, 2014; Palmyra, PA – The 3.6-acre parcel of land containing The Star Barn was sold to DAS Companies. After a challenging and multifaceted negotiation, The Star Barn, known as “the most recognizable barn in the country,” has a NEW HOME!

Now located in Lower Swatara Township in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, the barn complex will be carefully dismantled, moved, and re-assembled at a predetermined area in a nearby township. We are working closely with that township to gain zoning and building approvals to reconstruct The Star Barn. The overall plan for relocation was the subject of negotiations with the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC), and they have sanctioned and approved the concept.

DAS Companies, Inc., through its subsidiary, the Ironstone Ranch, has been working closely with their counsel, banks, and the PHMC to ensure an advantageous and smooth transition for the structures. Over time, The Star Barn and its complex of buildings will be restored to their authentic late nineteenth century appearance and will be available for viewing and educational purposes once they are fully restored.
