Path to Purchase Institute Announces Winners…and it’s Platinum for DAS’s Electronic Engagement Center

December 3, 2012 – Palmyra, PA— The Path to Purchase Institute announced the winners of the 2012, Design of the Times Awards competition held during the Shopper Marketing Expo in Chicago. DAS is happy to announce that our EEC (Electronic Engagement Center) Endcap Display has won the Platinum – Best of Category, in the Convenience Retail Category. This is the second top award from the Path to Purchase Institute in the last three years.

From nearly 5500 entries, the judges, executives from consumer product manufacturers and retailers from around the country, selected 85 entries which celebrate the most inspiring and creative in-store campaigns and tactics of the previous year to vie for the top awards in the competition’s eight retail channels: supermarket/grocery, consumer electronics, convenience, drug, home center/hardware, mass merchandiser, specialty and sporting goods.

Our Solution
The objective of our EEC display was to dramatically heighten awareness of the portable electronic category within major retail travel centers, such as Love’s, Pilot, Hess/Wilco and Flying J. Historically, travel centers have merchandised portable electronics in locking showcases. Due to the fact that shoppers often have long dwell times at travel centers, it is imperative to ensure that we actively engage and educate, while leading these shoppers to browse through the full assortment of merchandise on display.
